Seldovia Village Tribe EVOS

The Seldovia Village Tribe receives funding from the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Trustee Council. This organization was formed following the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill in Prince William Sound. It was established to help the affected areas and villages work together to sort out the many issues that arose from the spill, including future funding for continued cleaning, research and study of oil spill contamination of the food resources, and protection from future destruction.

A Youth Area Watch exists which allows school-age children to participate in monitoring of the marine environment and its resources, following the contamination from the Exxon Valdez oil spill.
