In order to be a member of the Seldovia Village Tribe, you must apply for enrollment.
Who may apply for Enrollment?
- Any blood descendent of any person who was originally enrolled in the Native Village of Seldovia under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act. (i.e. you or your parents were an original Shareholder of Seldovia Native Association).
- Any persons of Alaska Native descent shall be eligible to be adopted into the tribe if:
- You are a citizen of the United States of America;
- You have physically resided in the immediate vicinity of Kachemak Bay for a continuous period of at least one (1) calendar year immediately prior to the date of your adoption into the tribe. Residency must be actual, physical residency, not mere legal residency, and must be continuous, without interruption, for one full calendar year (January through December). Short trips away from Kachemak Bay for a period of not more than two (2) weeks at any one time shall not count as an interruption in residency.
